An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting into the Corporate Finance Manager, this role will support the Finance Team with accounting for inventory arrangements, as well as the AASB16 leasing obligations. Working from our state of the art building based in Cannon Hill, we offer complimentary parking in addition to light open plan offices which encourages collaborative ideas and thinking.
In this role your primary responsibilities will be:
Overseeing all aspects of inventory arrangements, including receipting and valuation.
Responsible for preparation of monthly journals, reconciliations and reporting.
Partner with Merchandising team and Accounts Payable team to ensure vendor invoicing is issued and recorded accurately from a quantity and valuation perspective.
Ensure vendor subledger balances are reconciled to vendor statements, with a focus on foreign exchange and hedging impacts.
Assist with inventory-related project work, when required.
Review all lease arrangements (including property leases) for lease accounting impacts.
Provide technical accounting advice to the Property Team and senior leaders regarding lease arrangements (eg. lease incentives), in accordance with AASB16 lease accounting.
Ensure balance sheet account reconciliations are completed each month and reconciliation differences are investigated and cleared.
Liaise with external auditors on leasing matters.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
Completed CPA or CA program.
Global experience with foreign currency and multinational businesses.
ERP system experience (Microsoft Dynamics 365, including Inventory Management module experience is highly recommended).
Intermediate to advanced excel skills.
Ability to work with large amounts of data with a high attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work under pressure and organise work priorities to meet deadlines.
