We have a fantastic opportunity here in our Michael Hill Support Centre for a keen, tech-savvy individual to work within our IT Service Desk environment. This team provides best in class IT service support to our network of retail stores and support centres - join us as a Service Desk Associate. This is a highly varied role, across multiple technologies, with unlimited scope to advance your technical knowledge and career!

This is a full-time opportunity working 38 hours across 5 days per week. This is an ideal position for someone who is keen to make a start in a career journey into the world of IT. You could have a background in retail or hospitality or recently completed a degree or certificate.

About the Opportunity

  • Provide excellent customer care to our staff - this includes our network of retail stores in Australia, New Zealand and Canada & our support centre offices.
  • Be the first point of contact for all Michael Hill employees seeking SAAS assistance over the phone and via a Fresh Desk Ticketing Environment.
  • Talking customers (our employees) through problem-solving processes and escalating issues where required.
  • To some degree also provide a level of technical support by remote trouble shooting by using diagnostic techniques and asking pertinent questions.

More About You

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills - the willingness to help our customers. This could be experience working in retail or hospitality.
  • Positive attitude & a team player. Keen to work as part of a wider IT team.
  • Calm demeanour - able to calmly assist our customers who are generally in stressful situations.
  • Agile/Adaptable – able to quickly adapt new processes and changes in IT systems.
  • Willingness to learn and a passion for retail and IT. 
  • Studying IT or desire to grow an IT career.
