We’re expanding our Finance team here at Michael Hill and are looking for three Financial Accountants to join us. These are distinct roles aligned to Retail, Inventory, and Group Services & Assets, offering hands-on responsibility, strong exposure and the opportunity to build depth within a large, complex business.

Financial Accountant (Retail)

• Support month-end close, journals, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Prepare monthly retail reporting and respond to store and stakeholder queries.
• Partner closely with Retail Operations, including Regional Managers.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and statutory reporting.
• Support audit requests, tax journals and process improvement initiatives.

Financial Accountant (Inventory)

• Support inventory accounting, cost of sales and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month end close, reporting and variance analysis.
• Partner with Supply Chain to support inventory movements and issue resolution.
• Prepare inventory related accounting entries and audit support.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and process improvement activities.

Financial Accountant (Group Services & Assets)

• Support financial accounting for Group Services and tangible & intangible assets.
• Assist with capitalisation, asset reconciliations and IFRIC SaaS accounting.
• Partner with project leads to track and account for project costs.
• Support month end, reporting, statutory requirements and audits.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and finance projects.

What you’ll bring:

• A degree in Accounting (or related discipline).
• CA or CPA qualified or currently completing.
• 4+ years’ post degree accounting experience.
• Experience with journals, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Knowledge of Australian accounting standards / IFRS.
• ERP experience (Dynamics 365 advantageous) and solid Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
