The Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you'll play a critical role in ensuring payroll compliance and effective workforce rostering across our three-country retail network.
You'll work closely with Payroll, HR, and Store Leaders to ensure payroll practices remain compliant with employment legislation, retail awards, enterprise agreements, and company policies. This role combines payroll expertise with workforce planning, helping to minimise risk, improve processes, and support best-practice rostering across the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure payroll practices comply with employment legislation, retail awards, enterprise agreements, and Fair Work requirements
- Interpret and apply modern awards, penalty rates, overtime, allowances, and loadings accurately
- Conduct payroll audits and identify compliance risks or discrepancies
- Monitor and analyse roster compliance across retail locations
- Support Store Managers with roster planning, workforce management tools, and best-practice guidance
- Maintain payroll and rostering systems, including ADP Payforce and Dayforce
- Develop payroll reports, compliance dashboards, and workforce insights
- Assist with internal and external audits and legislative compliance requirements
- Investigate payroll issues and implement corrective actions where required
- Provide responsive and professional support to employees, leaders, and HR stakeholders
What You Bring
- Minimum 5 years' payroll experience within a retail or high-volume workforce environment
- Strong understanding of employment legislation, retail awards, and payroll compliance requirements
- Experience undertaking payroll audits and managing compliance obligations
- Rostering or workforce management experience highly regarded
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to build strong relationships across multiple stakeholder groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with ADP Payforce and/or Ceridian Dayforce is highly desirable
