We’re growing our Finance team here at Michael Hill and are seeking two Senior Financial Accountants to join us. These are distinct roles specialising in Financial Reporting and Inventory Accounting, offering strong ownership, exposure, and the opportunity to make a real impact across the business.

Senior Financial Accountant (Financial Reporting)

Reporting to the Finance Manager – Financial Reporting, you will:

• Prepare consolidated management and statutory reporting.
• Manage half-year and year-end external audits.
• Own lease accounting (AASB 16) and intercompany accounting.
• Support complex technical accounting areas (impairments, share-based payments, provisions).
• Drive process improvements and support finance projects.

Senior Financial Accountant (Inventory)

Reporting to the Finance Manager – Corporate, you will:

• Own end-to-end inventory accounting, valuation, and cost of sales.
• Lead month-end processes, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare inventory-related statutory disclosures and audit support.
• Partner closely with Supply Chain, Merchandising and Operations.
• Improve inventory and supply chain finance processes.

What you’ll bring:

• CA or CPA qualification and a degree in Accounting (or related discipline).
• 5+ years’ post-degree experience in financial accounting or reporting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS / Australian accounting standards.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics 365 advantageous).
• Solid Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets.
• A detail-focused, process-driven mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
