The Role: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our Human Resources team at our Support Centre in Cannon Hill. In this role, you will be responsible for administering and preparing payroll entitlements for our team members. You will ensure timely and accurate payments while providing exceptional day-to-day customer service to all Michael Hill employees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Member File Maintenance: Ensure completeness and compliance of all paperwork, maintain accurate employee data and provide informed advice to HR and leaders.
• Payroll Processing: Own the end-to-end payroll process, cross-train across all pay areas and ensure data accuracy and compliance.
• Payroll Administration: Maintain accurate records, process legislated payments and participate in process reviews for better practices.
• Customer Service: Support our teams with payroll-related inquiries and reporting to relevant departments.

Experiences that will set you up for success:

• Minimum of 4+ years of high-volume payroll experience with knowledge of relevant legislation
• Exceptional time management and attention to detail
• Strong team player with a can-do attitude
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Experience with ADP Payforce and Ceridian’s Dayforce (highly desirable)
