Inventory and Asset Compliance Officer
Are you passionate about accuracy, compliance, and safeguarding business assets? Join us as an Inventory & Asset Compliance Officer and play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of inventory systems and protecting our stores and people across the Michael Hill Group.
This is a full-time maternity leave contract located in Auckland, running from February 2026 through to November 2026.
What You’ll Do

Drive Inventory Excellence: Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels across retail and corporate systems. Support cycle counts, stock takes and shrink reduction strategies.

Champion Compliance: Implement and review security and compliance frameworks, ensuring governance and risk controls are met.

Lead Process Improvements: Identify opportunities for efficiency and innovation in inventory and asset protection processes.

Train & Influence: Deliver training and coaching to teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Collaborate & Report: Work closely with Retail Operations, IT, Finance, and Distribution to provide insights, dashboards, and compliance reporting.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively across all levels.
- Experience in inventory management and compliance roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and D365 inventory modules.
- A degree in Business or related discipline.
